The last part of selfishness that needs to be removed
Is the notion that while we’ll never cross paths or legs again
You must remember
You and I.

So take the bond from our last kiss
Wrap the memory that resides in the back of your neck
And tie it so tightly
It will strangle from lack of breath of fresh air.
If neither of us speak on it
And we fasten our past with an inescapable bind
Then maybe we’ll forget
Then again,
We slipped free of love
